Our first traffic accident

Well, It finally happened. We are so surprised that we don't see more fender benders and really bad accidents. They just seem to be able to keep from hitting each other. The other day we were going down one of the sort of main roads and a car came from one of the little roads going really fast and didn't even slow at the stop sign and ran right into the back end of the temple van. The scarey part to me was that it was right where the gas tank is. None of us were hurt and the church has insturance. But, here if you have an accident, you just decide how much it will cost to repair the car and give that amount to the owner and off you go. No police or anything. No one has insurance, so they just take care of it themselves. Well, these North Americans weren't going to let it go. So, we ended up at the police station to make a report so we can put in a claim to our insurance. There is no way they can do anything to the man that hit us, I guess. Anyway, we felt very lucky that it was not more serious.

This is the van and you can see that it wasn't really too bad a smash up, but it could be pricey to fix. It was really an interesting experience. Hope we don't have another one.
