Well, we have hit our one month mark and find it rather quick in coming. Of course, in some ways it has been our whole life down here. We have become so accustomed to things here we will probably feel strange at home now.
Last week we had another adventure. The Strattons and Steve and I went to the center of Lima to the Mercado Central. It is a large block-size building of many floors (the boys say 7) but January and I only went to two. Anyway, they have those stalls like everywhere with anything you could ever want to buy. We were looking for cookie cutters and candy molds. The molds are one sol here and they are about $2.00 at home. So, we got a few. They are fun and will be fun to use with the kids at home. We found the neatest cookie cutters. I wish now I had gotten one for each of you. They are about 2-3 inches deep. Normal shapes, but some are tin and others are stainless (?). So fun. They also have 12 on one handle. We couldn't find anything very large, so passed on those. I did find a heart one I liked.
Now, I am ready to go back there. I wonder if Steve will go with me. We were told it was a very dangerous place. We felt very safe there. In fact our guys dumped us and we did it all on our own. When we were thru we could NOT find them. It took about an hour of wandering around to find them. We were ready to head for home - only after we spent all of our money but the taxi fare.
