On Thurs of this week we had a large group come to the temple. One of the x presidents of this temple came with some of the missionaries who served with him when he was mission president. They came with their wives. The group was 72 strong and they all hit at once. It was so cool seeing all of those light-skinned, light-haired people in one place here in Lima. It was also great for me to be able to help them and understand what they were saying. Very strange for me. Dad and I ended up in one of the three sessions they did and it was really different to have everyone awake and alert thru the whole session. I think dad enjoyed the English session as much as I did. It has been over a month since I have heard it in English. So good to hear again.
The one thing that was surprising to me was as I looked out at those special people I was not at all homesick. It was super nice to have them there, but I was not at all ready to go home to be in that setting all the time. The next day as we did a normal session I felt right at home. It was again in Spanish and the sweet dark-skinned people were very happy to be there. We had 13 new sisters in a rush this morning. We were really busy for a while. I love it when the temple is humming like that. What a great way to spend a day.
I think the new has worn off and we still like it here. Lima is a great place. So much variety in everything. I am having a hard time finding something to wear. My clothes are all so loose on me. I am not complaining, just stating the facts. Anyway, we went to a nice dept. store yesterday and they don't have anything grande (grandeous) enough for me. So, I may just have to get out my little needle and thread and take things in. I wonder how that will be?
Thanks to everyone for keeping us current on your lives. We do love to hear from you.
