I wish you could all be here to enjoy this beautiful place. As I sit in our apartment and enjoy the hot and cold running water, our own washer and dryer and hear my dish washer humming as he works in the kitchen I am a happy camper. By the way Dad is my dishwasher most of the time. He is very good.
I hear the dove singing from the roof-tops on our street, and can hear the dogs barking, the bread man is going down the street on his bike tooting his horn to let us know that he is there. We also have a man with a stone grinder that will ruin your knives for you. He uses a peru musical instrument called a pan flute to remind us he is here and there is an ice cream guy who has a dead goose sounding horn, then there is the tamale lady who yells tamaaaaaaaaaleeeeeees. We don't dare try them, but she must have some regular customers because she comes each week. Many of the people in our neighborhood have cars, but most of us walk. So, we hear people going down the street.
So, our area is rather quiet. However, if you get out onto the Prado which is the main drag thru this part of town it is very busy. You see MANY taxis and buses. The taxis try to get you to go in them by tooting their horn and hitting the brakes hard to be there for you to get in. It must work for them, because they continue doing it.
We are also blessed with sunshine and a very nice breeze. When we go to the temple at 1:00 it is quite warm, but by 9:00 it is cool again. Spring is the best yet.
