These are some of the pottery of the very early period in Peru. Some of it is from before Christ. They said that they have returned them to their original state. They did not find them in such good comdition. We had a little Peruvian girl as our guide in English (sort of) We had a hard time understanding her, but she was very cute and knew about each display.

The only opening to these pots is thru the little hole in the handle. They also had pots that are instruments. They put different amounts of liquid in them to make different sounds. These pots were poured in a mold and then painted. Some of the examples they had were not painted. That is a skill they developed later.

There was a lot of pottery in the museum. It is mostly examples from thousands of years before Christ to after the Inca period which was about 1540ish. That is really old stuff.

It took three taxi rides to find the right museum. The white building below is the first place we went to and was not the right place. We then went to another wrong place and then found the right one. It was quite a ride in downtown Lima and the buildings there are so cool. Such old arcitecture and different colors.

It was quite a day and we had such good company. We went with Sister Drake, The Goedes and the Hawkins. It was a very nice day. We ended at Tony Rama for a nice meal. We are ready for a quiet night at home.
