Moving Day in Lima

Up early and our ride came on time. We took all of our stuff to the apartment and then headed in to the Metro. It is a grocery/department store. We ran out of everg before we saw it all. I can not believe how tired I am. Between the head, humidity and all the people, I have had it. Everything is so crowded. I guess we are just spoiled with the way things are in the west.

We spent over 600 Soles (you say it solays). We felt like newly weds buying all the stuff you need from scratch. Now that I have in in the cupboards it sure doesn't look like much. I can see why they tell us to bring extra money for the first little while. Oh, it takes 3 soles to make $1.00. So, we really didn't spend too awful much.

I AM SO GLAD we got the internet to work. I just plugged in another phone line and now it works. Yea. We are trying to get unpacked and ready to go to the temple in the morning at 6:10 a.m. We will probably be home by 2>30. That should be a good time for a nap of some kind.

We rode the bus for the first time today and a taxi. The bus was so crowded that we had to stand and they start and stop really fast. I fell on a lady and she wasn't very happy with me. The bus company has two people to each bus. A driver and a hawker type guy. He tries to get people to ride his bus and doesn't care if they are overcrowded. We only went a mile or two, but it was indeed an experience. The taxi was great. He told us how much he would charge before we got in and it was 4 Soles for three of us and all of our stuff. He carried it up to our steps and then dad did the rest of the way. I am sure glad today is overwith.

The Rameriz are still sopping for stuff for us. They are so very nice. They are really taking good care of us. We can do it for someone else down the road.

My greatest hope is that I can learn the things I need to know in the temple really SOON and that my body will adjust to this climate and level of activity soon. Dad is having trouble with his hips and doesn't do too well with all the walking. I think we will both level out soon.l
