What a day this was. This morning early, of course, we went to the temple and did an endowment session. Then we discussed and enjoyed being together. Then Elder Shumway of the Temple Committee came down with his wife to talk to us. It was such a spiritual experience to be in the temple and be able to discuss important and sacred things. I really did feel special. Then we had lunch with the Penagers and Shumways in the Temple Presidents dining room. Special us. It was a really good day.
Then we said our goodbyes to all of us. We are all going to our areas. It is such a testimony to me that the work is true when I see us older couples leaving family etc. to go to far away places to serve. We are not sure what we will be doing really or what our lives will be like, but we know we are doing the right thing and want to serve.
We spent the rest of the day doing laundry, packing etc. Takes a longer time than I thought it would to get everything spread out thru out bags. Now we feel like we are within the weight limit and should have a very enjoyable day tomorrow. We stop in Atlanta,Georgia long enough to change planes. Then we get into Lima at about 11:00. They say it will take until about 2:00a.m. to get thru customs and to our apartment. That is rather late. Then on Sat. we get to report to the temple at 1:15 for a shift. That may be a little sketchey for us. I am sure we can look alive, but how will we feel?
We thank you again for your support and we know you all will be blessed for this experience for all of us.
